Hellos and Good-byes

Today was open house at Ava's elementary school. We found out who her teacher will be this year, where her desk is, and what her classroom looks like. Jocelyn and Molly stayed with friends so it could be a special time just for Ava. It was a little overwhelming with all the chaos and throngs of people, but Ava is really excited for school to start next week. And I'm excited for her too - this is the beginning of another journey she will take. In the next 7 years Ava will learn many things, meet great friends, and make many wonderful memories at this school. Beginnings are always so exciting, because there's no where to look but up and the great adventure that is to come.

Unfortunately, new beginnings can only come from an ending. Tonight we said good-bye to another summer of babysitting adventures with the Olszowy sisters. During the school year, physical distance and crazy schedules make it almost impossible to see these girls outside of the dance studio. So during the summer we make it a point to have them over to babysit as much as possible. My girls adore Victoria and Veronica, and if I'm not mistaken they think the Seward girls are pretty special too. Victoria and Veronica came to watch the girls while I had a dentist appointment, and then I intentionally stayed out of the house for several hours before meeting Ben for dinner, just so they could all play together a little longer. So thank you again to these wonderful girls for another memorable summer. My girlies had a blast, and happy children make for a very happy Momma.
