Girl's Best Friend

First of all, thank you to anyone who reads this for being patient with me during this vacation. It's been pretty challenging to find time to write these posts - shocking!

Today Molly, Ben, and I drove to Elgin (just outside of Austin) to meet up with Ava and Jocelyn and spend some time with Ben's family. The girls had fun playing and Ben and I enjoyed visiting. The funniest relationship to watch, however, may have been between Molly and Ben's parents' dog Marley. Marley followed Molly around all day. In the beginning Molly wanted nothing to do with her - I heard "No, puppy!" approximately 46 times in the first few hours we were there. After a while, Molly gained enough confidence to pet the puppy, even smelling her paws and yelling, "ew, stinky!" By the end of the day, Molly was throwing Marley her toy and wearing that poor puppy out. It was funny to see the push-and-pull interactions between this child and dog.

  1. Godmother strongly approves of this relationship. ;)
Isn't she supposed to be allergic? How did she do?

  2. She supposedly has a minor allergy to dogs, and I kept an eye on her just in case, but she seemed to do great :) She's been around dogs and people who have dogs plenty and never seemed to have an issue, but this was the first time she had been around a dog for such a long time. Was glad we had no problems
