Clean-up Game

Tonight I tried out a game with the girls that proved pretty successful. I read once of a mom playing a commcercial clean-up game. Her kids watched a show, and every time there was a commercial  break they would race to clean as much as possible. When the show resumed the kids would drop whatever they were cleaning and go back to watching the show. We did this tonight for the hour before bedtime, and it worked pretty well! Ava really got into it, going as fast as she could before the program came back on. This method of cleaning is not super quick or efficient, but there was no complaining of all the cleaning that they had to do, since it was done in short spurts. It's not something I would do all the time, but it was a fun experiment that I might try again one day. It was something new and different and fun, and that made it worthwhile.
