The Great Outdoors

Today was almost entirely spent outside. We left the house at 9am this morning and walked our neighborhood for an hour and a half. There was a neighborhood yard sale going on, but really we just used it as an excuse to walk around and say hi to the neighbors - no great finds for us yard sale-ing today. Then we hopped in the car to go to our little friend Isaac's birthday party, also held outside in his backyard. The kids ran around for a good 3 hours, playing, eating, and laughing nonstop. We did manage to squeeze in a little quiet time when we got home around 2:30pm, but were back outside just before 4 for an afternoon session of playing with the neighbors. We came in for dinner around 6:25pm, and all 3 girls were so exhausted it was straight to baths after eating. Jocelyn went down at 7:15 - no nap meant she REALLY needed an early bedtime - with Molly following at 7:50 and Ava finally at 8. I am not really an outdoors person; I'd rather sit in the comfortable air conditioning of my home and read a good book or play solitaire on my tablet. But it was really a fun day enjoying the nice weather and getting reacquainted with some outside activities.
